Happy holidays (and a question for our new year)
Here’s to a nice recharge as we head into 2025.
The end of the year brings a strange mix of emotions. Exhaustion and anticipation. Second guessing and first regrets. Whatever that feeling is when Hans Gruber tricks John McClain into thinking he’s an Enron oil man only to find out McLain was onto him from the start.
It’s also the time when I force myself to think about the year. Ask what worked, what didn’t, and where I want to go next. What is effort if not finding the next ingredient in our ever-changing formulas for a fulfilled life.
With all that, the holidays don’t always feel like a peaceful recharge. But the step back makes the things that matter come into focus. I’m lucky to have an endlessly caring and supportive wife, a home in a city I love, and that all-important thing called hope.
Whether your joy is in meaningful work, connecting with others, or leaving space for the unexpected moments, I hope each and every one of you leave 2024 with heads held high.
What’s on the horizon in 2025
Next year, I’m launching some things that I’ve been quietly building for a while. Consulting services will roll out under the banner of AI Artistry. I’ve found that while most of us can recognize AI as a tool, applying that to our unique circumstances is another thing entirely. This consulting includes workshops and trainings for teams and professionals, helping them envision and adopt AI in ways that expand their capabilities while leveraging their time.
I’m also looking forward to expanding this newsletter. While the practical tips and my own insights will continue on in weekly fashion, I plan to drill deeper. I’ll be sharing more of my day-to-day prompts (there are a lot) to provide a more granular look into how I amplify nearly everything I do with AI. I’ll also unload the occasional thought experiment — big swings that might work but testing the limits just for fun. These are things I’m excited to explore, and I’ll be doing so in adding a paid subscription level to this newsletter.
Lastly, I’m working on some digital courses (think Udemy) in the vein of providing a more holistic learning experience around practical AI. They’ll be geared as much on process as they are to developing our unique senses of creativity.
And in that vein…
A one-question poll for you
What would help you most next year?
This newsletter has always been about sharing ideas, workflows, and strategies. My hope is that sharing allows each and every one of you to find your path in leveraging AI. As I plan for 2025, I want to make sure this space reflects what you’re looking for.
That’s why I’ve put together a quick poll. If you could give one little gift to this newsletter (and eventually yourself), take 30 seconds to vote—one question, one answer. Your input will shape what I focus on next year.
As we wrap up 2024, I’m grateful for every reader who’s joined me on this journey. Here’s to a season of reflection and rest—and a 2025 full of fresh ideas and big growth.
