Creating your own AI marketing assistant
A chatbot marketing assistant scales content (social, email, SEO), helping creators to unlock new strategies and get more done with less.
As an artist, author or creator, you pour your heart and soul into your work only to face the daunting task of marketing. That’s where the idea of an AI marketing assistant was born. It wasn’t something I stumbled on, rather a way to do more by doing differently. And in using my own marketing assistant, I’ve taken what was once a time suck of a chore and made a more streamlined process (with some extra person power).
This post explores how to create your own AI marketing assistant, with steps and strategies to hyper-charge you (or your brand).
Determining where AI adds value
Let’s look at a more in-depth list of the ways a chatbot marketing assistant can make a difference (and has made a difference for me):
Profiles, bios and brand stories
Developing your brand voice (“Your goal is to help me define the brand voice for my…”)
Website copy (“Given the following points about my brand, please write me website copy for my _____ page.”)
Copywriting of all sorts — especially first drafts
Social media content calendars (“Given a the below bulleted list of post ideas and my parameters for posting, create me a one-month content calendar for both X and Instagram.”)
Time management (“Give the list of marketing tasks, create me a daily schedule of the tasks that need to done each day.”)
Email marketing (“Given a the below bulleted list of email campaigns and my ultimate goal of increasing my subscriber list, create me a two-month campaign calendar with subject lines and copy for every email.”)
Developing article pitches for publishers
Crafting a query letter (“Given the pitch for my manuscript and examples of successful query letters, you must draft me two versions of a query letter.”)
Analytics (“Given the pasted data around my email analytics, what trends can you provide around…”)
A quick note that every part in quotes are prompt examples meant to exhibit the possibilities. My actual prompts will be much more detailed.
I guarantee we’ll go more into many of these use cases in later posts. The point is, AI can take over repetitive or time-consuming tasks, freeing up your time to focus on your creative work. And to be clear, a chatbot marketing assistant is not autonomous. But when in use, it’s having an extra set of hands that saves me tens of minutes to an hour per task. Which means I can do more tasks (and promote myself more).
See the prompts below to get started.
Two prompts to create your own marketing assistant
Ready to build your own AI marketing assistant? Here are two prompts that will take you to the finish line. You’ll want to choose one or the other depending on how you operate.
Prompt 1: Create an assistant for MULTIPLE businesses/brands/products (My Choice)
This prompt creates a multi-purpose marketing assistant. In other words, you’ll use it almost all the time. NOTE: When using this prompt, you’ll always need to prep with some details about the brand or product it’s working on.
I want you to be my marketing assistant for all of my business endeavors. I will provide you with a variety of business ideas and products, and your role will be to enhance the marketing of these ventures.
This includes managing and promoting my personal brand. Your tasks will include:

My goal is to ruthlessly maximize the efficiency of my marketing efforts in all of the following areas:
- My Personal Brand Assets

- Websites

By providing detailed and actionable strategies, content generation, and process enhancements, you will help me achieve outstanding marketing results for all my business endeavors. Do you have any questions?
Prompt 2: Create an assistant for a SINGLE business/brand/product
This prompt creates a marketing assistant dedicated to a brand or business. It’ll be your go-to for a single project, but in addition to this prompt, you can better calibrate your assistant to write in brand voice.
NOTE: Your marketing assistant can even help you define your brand voice.

Which prompt works better for you will depend upon your needs. There’s a case to be made for a chat thread dedicated to “AI Artistry” (with the benefit of honing in on a single voice/tone). On the flip side, the more you’re involved with, the more a appealing a single, broad marketing assistant becomes.
And the big important question: Which chatbot is best for this?
My marketing assistant is a long-lasting thread, and not all platforms support long, multi-prompt threads. ChatGPT is far and away the best for this, given even the free plan doesn’t cut off the size of a thread. Anthropic’s Claude is a distant second. Claude threads can no longer be used after a limit is hit, but it’s a higher limit.
Creating your own AI marketing assistant doesn’t just make your life easier—it revolutionizes the way you approach marketing. By understanding your needs, you can spin up a marketing assistant so you can do more with less.
Sub-prompts
Once you’ve created your main AI marketing assistant, sub-prompts can help you fine-tune and expand its capabilities.
Anywhere you see square brackets (“[ ]”)in use, you should populate with your own details.

* The description must be between 150 and 250 words
* Use short sentences and clear wording
* Generate two versions of the description with different tone and word choice
Please use the following details to create this product description description:
-- Details START --
[brief description of your product/service - ex. pricing details, benefits, features, industry, customer demographics]
-- Details END --
Sub-prompt 2: Craft a personal bio or brand story
I want you to help me with my brand story. I'm going to provide you some background details regarding [PRODUCT or PERSONAL BRAND], and I would like you to create a brand story that can be used for my website home page, social media profiles, etc.
Additionally:
* This statement should be in the perspective: [first-person/third-person]
* This length of this should be between 60-80 words
* The theme of this statement: [The main theme/point to convey]
* The tone: [Ex. Approachable and friendly, but well-spoken]
